


Invitation to Submit an Abstract on a Reproductive Health Response in the
Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region
12th Annual Meeting of IAWG

This invitation is available for information only.
The Inter-agency Working Group (IAWG) on Reproductive Health in Crises would like to ensure that presentations addressing reproductive health in the LAC region are highlighted on the agenda for the meeting this year. Therefore, we invite you to submit an abstract of no more than 400 words for review and possible selection by the IAWG Steering Committee.
Below are topics of special interest:
- Reproductive health (RH) response in natural disasters
- Contingency planning and preparedness in the provision of comprehensive RH services
- Access to safe abortion care and post abortion care services
- STIs and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment
- Health information systems development, integration, and strengthening
- New technologies (development of new and effective RH technologies used in your settings)
- Increasing access to RH services via community based initiatives
You can also submit an abstract on a topical area of your choice related to implementing a reproductive health response in your setting (such as gender-based violence, maternal and newborn care, family planning, emergency obstetric care, continuum of care, implementation of the minimal initial service package (MISP), capacity building, etc).
Abstracts should be no more than 400 words and should include:
· Presenter name and agency represented
· Location(s) where the program/approach is implemented
· Description of key approaches used, challenges and lessons learned

must meet eligibility criteria as set forth in the scholarship application.*
Please submit abstracts to Katie Anfinson (katea@archq.org) by 5 March 2010. The IAWG steering committee will provide notification about whether your abstract has been accepted after 5 April 2010.
